Where do we go in China? Worldbank report names most attractive cities in the PR of China (..)

According to a Worldbank report published in November 2006 there are six cities in China which are most investor-friendly and attractive for their inhabitants: Hangzhou, Quingdao, Shaoxing, Suzhou, Xiamen, and Yantai.

Also excellent and ahead of the averag, even with some potential for improvement, are the following "silver-medal-winners" of the Worldbank findings: Beijing, Dalian, Dongguan, Foshan, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Jiangmen, Ningbo, Shanghai, Shenzen, Tianjin, Weihai and  Zhuhai.

The report "Governance, Investment Climate, and Harmonious Society: Competitiveness Enhancements for 120 Cities in China" looked at business parameters such as taxes and fees, firms' interaction with major local bureaucracies, or times for customs clearance of imports and exports.
Moreover, factors that determine quality of life and a liveable neighbourhood were checked, e.g. expenditures on education, air quality, per capita green space measures, health insurance, infant mortality, and the actual state of industrial waste disposals. The survey screened 12400 firms in 120 chinese cities.
